Lisa treats stomach ulcers on carnivore diet

Lisa, 54, has successfully treated chronic stomach ulcers, improved her digestion, and reduced inflammation and fatigue since she began following the carnivore diet a year and a half ago.

From Paleo to Carnivore: Lisa’s Journey to Health

Lisa had been following a paleo diet for about seven years, consisting of meat, dairy, salads, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. She avoided all grains and gluten. “When I was 53, I was not feeling very healthy,” she recalls.

“I was gaining weight, I felt inflamed, and I would have bouts of fatigue that would hit, and I’d just feel wiped out for five days.” She struggled to get a restful night’s sleep due to hip pain and major digestive problems.

The Carnivore Diet: An Effective Treatment for Chronic Stomach Ulcers and Inflammation

“I had struggled with stomach ulcers since I was 18,” Lisa explains. “I had an endoscopy done, and the doctor saw layers and layers of scar tissue from ulcers that had healed as well as new open wounds, and was concerned that at some point, this could mean I may develop stomach cancer.” At the time, she also suffered from a frozen shoulder, which lasted for 18 months and was the worst pain she had ever felt.

Lisa decided to try the carnivore diet, and within 30 days, she dropped 15 pounds and immediately noticed her digestion had improved, and her stomach started to feel better. “I was no longer bloated, and my energy level went up.

It was really like turning on a switch as to how good I felt after eliminating non-animal products like plants from my diet.”

Lisa primarily ate steaks, hamburgers, pork, chicken, seafood, and all dairy products. In the beginning, she also included some other foods such as avocado, almonds, dark chocolate, and coffee.

Eliminating Plant Anti-Nutrients: A Key to Lisa’s Improved Digestion and Reduced Fatigue

After about ten months, Lisa was feeling better and wanted to try adding greens back into her diet. “I made it for three weeks, but I was going downhill so fast and started to feel inflamed, and my digestion was a mess.

I felt irritated and realized that I cannot eat plant anti-nutrients.” Within a week of eliminating them, Lisa felt better again.

The Role of High-Oxalate Foods in Chronic Pain and Inflammation

However, her frozen shoulder pain returned. Lisa eventually realized that avocados, almonds, and dark chocolate (high-oxalate foods) were the likely culprits for her pain.

“I immediately cut those things out and also eliminated coffee. Within 30 days, my frozen shoulder was about 90% gone and eventually subsided.” Lisa took a closer look at the foods she was eating and tested each one to see if she should continue including it. This led her to eliminate chicken, fish, and most dairy items.

“I was surprised to find that I can eat eggs again! This was a big game-changer for me. Removing these items did the trick for me. I no longer have ulcers, and I’m cured of a lifelong problem of allergies that had at one time sent me to the ER.”

Additionally, Lisa’s getting her best sleep ever, dropped an additional 13 pounds, and is enjoying clear, youthful skin at age 54. Also, her son and husband have joined her on her carnivore journey. “We all feel phenomenal!” she exclaims. “This has been a life-changer for all of us!”
